Southwestern Illinois College Aviation Pilot Training

Southwestern offers a wide variety of aviation courses that provides training for individuals desiring to obtain a Private Pilot Certificate or adding an Instrument Rating for their personal use. An A.A.S. degree program is available for those who are planning a career as a professional pilot along with a direct transfer program to Southern Illinois

University in Carbondale for those desiring to transfer a Southwestern program directly to a four year institution.

AVI A 101 Private Pilot Flight Theory provides the necessary training to successfully complete the Federal Aviation Administration knowledge exam requirements for the Private Pilot written exam.

Southwestern offers a wide variety of aviation courses for Pilot Training, Aviation Management or Aviation Maintenance Technology for those seeking the escape to an everyday adventure in aviation.

Embraer 145 Ground Training Systems Course

The Southwestern Illinois College Aviation Pilot Training Program is offering a 3 semester hour ERJ 145 Systems Training Course (AVIA 222) during the Fall 2009 Semester. The course is offered on Monday evenings from 7:00 to 9:50PM..

AVIA 222 is based on the systems incorporated on the ERJ 145 Regional Jetliner. The Transport Aircraft Systems course is designed for individuals who are planning a career in Commercial Aviation as a pilot or aircraft maintenance technician and desire to gain an in-depth understanding of the systems incorporated on this F.A.R. Part 25 category aircraft. Subject areas covered in this course include aircraft construction, air-conditioning, pressurization, electrical, flight controls, hydraulics, landing gear, pneumatics, fuel, ice and rain protection, navigation, fire protection, auxiliary power and engines. This course is taught by industry professionals and is an excellent opportunity to provide future airline professionals with an excellent enhancement to your resume.
