Illinois Wing Commanders
December 2006
At the December Wing Staff meeting, six former Illinois Wing
Commanders gathered along with current Commander, Col Maurice Givens, to honor
Col Larry Lis' 50th Anniversary as a member of CAP. Col Lis joined CAP as a
cadet along with former wing vice commander Lt Col Tom O'Shea.
The commanders gathered in the wing headquarters' hangar for a group picture:
(left to right) Col Larry Lis (1986-1991), Col Steve Peters (1991-1994), Col Ron
Westholm (1994-1998), Col Joe King (1998-2001), Col Bob Karton (2001-2002), Col
Jay Burrell (2002-2005) and Col Maurice Givens (2005-2008).
Col Lis was presented a plaque from National Headquarters honoring his years of
service to CAP.
