Group 1 had its Annual Awards Banquet, February 2 at the Scott Air Force Base, Consolidated Open Mess.

Scott Composite Squadron – Commander: Capt John Brendel

Commanders Award: C/SMSgt Benjamin K. Sies – this award is for the cadet that often goes unrecognized for the dedication and support shown to the squadron.

The keynote speaker was USAF Brigadier General (Ret) Brad Baker

General Baker was a cadet member of the St. Charles Missouri Composite Squadron during his high school yearsHe earned his Earhart Award and was a Cadet LtCol. General Baker also served as the Deputy Commander of Cadets at the McGuire Composite Squadron at McGuire AFB, NJ from 1977-1980.  General Baker is a former 375th Airlift Wing Commander at Scott AFB.
